Itinerary

Welcome! It’s great to have you in Athens. On arrival, a pre-arranged driver will be at the airport receive you and transfer you to the hotel to check in. The rest of the day is available to be spent at your leisure.

Today, our local expert will lead you on a morning expedition cruise of Athens, to visit the ancient monuments located in the city. The excursion will take you through the Panathenaic Stadium, The temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament, and the monument of the Unknown Soldier–a tombstone built-in memory of Greek soldiers who lost their lives during the war. Also, drop by the Academy, the University, the National Library, and the Constitution Square (Syntagma). What is a visit to Athens without a tour of the Acropolis? Pay a visit to the historic site that now contains the ruins of several ancient structures and climb up to the top floor of Acropolis for a panoramic view of Athens. End your tour of the city at the spectacular Acropolis Museum, just five minutes away from the Acropolis by foot. By afternoon, your expedition should have ended so that you can proceed to the Rafinha port for a boat trip to Mykonos Island. At the Island, you’ll be chauffeured to a hotel for the night.

Mykonos is a piece of perpetual Cycladic beauty. The island, located on a rocky terrain has plenty to offer from its signature white and blue cubic houses, the tiny streets designed with pebble-stoned walkways, and the small white chapels that dot the city. Enjoy your free day and Stop by the Mykonos Windmills with their particular cylindrical shape, white color, and straw-colored pointed roofs. Don’t forget to take as many pictures with your device when you visit the Paraportiani Church, a great architectural masterpiece located near the entrance to the Mykonos harbor.

Spend the morning at your leisure, but pack your luggage too. Later in the day, you’ll join the trip to the port for onward departure to Santorini. At the Island, you’ll be chauffeured to your destination hotel on arrival and the evening will be spent as you deem fit, admiring the glorious views of the city. As part of your pastime, take a stroll through the streets of Fira, the panoramic capital of Santorini, seated on the rim of the Caldera. Spare some while to bask in the scenic sights of the volcano, the ocean, the buildings dipped in white paint, and the blue-domed churches.

Take full advantage of this day to savor the glamorous views, the black sandy beaches, and the beautiful sunset scene in Santorini. We recommend that you join the optional half-day tour (with extra charge) to the tiny volcanic islands of Nea Kameni and Palea Kameni located in the middle of the Santorini Caldera and swim in the orange-colored warm springs there. If you travel with a partner, seize the opportunity to treat your lover to a romantic dinner at the edge of the Caldera, looking over what might be the most astonishing scenery in the world.

In the morning, after you’re done packing, you will be driven to the port, where you’ll board a ferry boat to Piraeus. Once you arrive at the port of Piraeus, you’ll be taken to a hotel where you’ll rest before this leg of the tour.

After breakfast, you’ll join our bus for a day’s trip to Delphi, the acclaimed center of the world and the city where the popular oracle of ancient Greece is located. In Delphi, you’ll ascend the slopes of Mount Parnassus to get to the sanctuary of Apollo Pythius. The view from the sanctuary is incredibly beautiful. You’ll also visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Theatre, the Stadium and the Museum, housing the famous sculpture of Antinoos and special bronze sculpture of the Charioteer of Delphi dating back to 475 BC; and, the statue of Aghias of Pharsalia, a champion of Panhellenic games in the 5th Century. As the tour bus drives through the beautiful towns of Amphissa, Lamia, and Trikala on your return trip to Kalambaka hotel, let your eyes roam and admire all the picturesque views of Thessalian fields. Dinner will be available at the hotel before you retire for the day.

Enjoy breakfast at the Kalambaka hotel, before proceeding on today’s trip to Meteora. It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 and the rock formation is home to a complex of monasteries, over 20 monasteries and this is one of the largest in the world. Some of the monasteries are seated highly at the top of the mountain, while others occupy the natural caves on the rock. Meteora is a representation of historical and religious gems rolled into one and it offers an amazing picture of the town surrounding it. On your trip back to Athens, stop by the coastal town of Thermopylae, close to Lamia, and take a dip into the town’s history, particularly, the battle between the Greek Spartans and Persians. You’ll arrive in Athens later in the evening.

Depending on your flight schedule, you will check out of the hotel at the due time and transferred to the Athens airport, where you will join a flight back home. But you won’t be leaving alone, you’ll be carrying the remarkable memories of Greek historic monuments and elegant cities.
